Operating since the 17th century, it is a popular tourist attraction in heritage circuit of Old Delhi.
Many shops are still known by their serial numbers and not names!
Shopkeepers belong to 10th generation of its founders and some have existed for 400 years!
Khari Baoli is named after a stepwell meaning ‘a salty lake’.
Khari Baoli Market is close to Red Fort and Fatehpuri Masjid- built in 1650 by Fatehpuri Begum, wife of Shah Jahan.
Around 100 different types of local and exotic spices are traded here!!
It is also known for selling wholesale dry fruits, herbs, and nuts.
