Celebrated on October 24 every year to honour the services of troops guarding India's frontiers.
What is ITBP?
ITBP stands for Indo-Tibetan Border Police, which is one of the Central Armed Police Forces of India.
Historical Origin:
Established after the Indo-China war, it guards the LAC from Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh.
Specialized Security Force
It is a specially trained to act as the first line of defence at high altitudes, securing borders of India.
ITBP's Formation
Besides this, it also performs various internal security and disaster management duties.
ITBP’s Motto
The motto is “Shaurya-Dridhata-Karma Nishtha” meaning “Valour- Determination- Devotion to Duty”.
Modernization Efforts:
ITBP consistently enhances its manpower and resources to strengthen frontier defense capabilities.
