Discovered by Fred Fawcett during a hunting trip to Wayanad in 1890.

Renowned as the sole location in India with Stone Age carvings.

Contains inscriptions in Tamil and Brahmi Script alongside other graphic carvings.
Exhibits petroglyphs, the oldest of which are 8,000 years old.
Associated with the Indus Valley Civilization, particularly due to unique symbols like 'A man with a jar cup.'
