COP28

The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) is the United Nations’ 28th annual climate summit, scheduled from 30 November to 12 December in the United Arab Emirates

The main objective of COP28 is to assess global efforts to limit global temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels by 2100

The 1st COP meeting was held in 1995 in Berlin, Germany

It witnesses the action plans to phase out carbon dioxide-emitting coal, oil, and gas

COP28 will focus on implementing and boosting ambition under the Paris Agreement

COPs provide platform for global response and serve as a common platform for every country to assess and determine climate measures
