The Khavda power plant, under development by Adani Green Energy Limited, is set to be the world’s largest renewable energy plant with a capacity of 30 GW

Spanning over 538 square kilometers in Khavda, Kutch, Gujarat, this plant's area is nearly as large as Mumbai and five times the size of Paris

Initiated in December 2022, the Khavda project marked its first production milestone in December 2023

By February 14, 2024, the national grid welcomed its first batch of 551 MW of solar energy from this plant

This ambitious project aims to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 58 million tonnes annually

Financial backing includes Rs 1.5 lakh crore from Adani Green Energy Limited and an additional Rs 2.3 lakh crore from the broader Adani Group

The full capacity of the plant, aiming for a 45,000 MW output of renewable energy, is expected to be reached by 2030

A significant portion of the plant, with a 2,000 MW capacity for solar energy, has been operational since March 2024

It will help meet the growing global demand for electricity, while conserving non-renewable energy sources for future generations

The Khavda power plant is designed as a hybrid renewable energy source, producing solar energy during the day and wind energy during the night
